Raya Restaurant

Raya Royal Thai Restaurant
48 New Dibuk Road, Phuket Old Town.
Tel: 076-218155, 076-2322

The charm of Phuket Town's old quarter is nowhere more evident than in its Sino-Portuguese architecture. Along Dibuk, Thalang and Phang Nga roads downtown you'll see beautiful examples of restored shophouses and a good example of this genre is Raya Restaurant. Raya, not to put a too fine point on it, is the Thai restaurant in Phuket. Sure there are other overpriced and clumsily themed contenders but Raya alone caters for locals with the tourist market almost as an afterthought – which is why it is so genuinely Thai.

Oh-Aew

An iced sweet dessert made of flour, banana, and a little seaweed. But if you ask Phuketians , one of your answers will be “Oh Aew” Oh Aew is a dessert like jelly but not exactly jelly. Oh Aew made from Oh Aew Seed mix with banana and gelatin. We eat Oh Aew with red bean and ice with red syrup on top.It is very very cheap to pay 10-15 THB for one cup of Oh Aew. On the other hand it’s pretty rare to find Oh Aew in some other places outside Phuket but in this Pearl of Andaman sea, Oh Aew will be waiting for you along the road side in Downtown and other restaurants.

Krachang KruSuwit

This fabulous floating restaurant is situated at the east side of Phuket, the journey from Patong Beach to Liem Hin Pier takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at the pier, there is a complimentary boat service.
This floating restaurant is huge so take a walk around the restaurant before ordering your dinner. Using the fish-farming concept, the live seafood is displayed in respective traps instead of the usual aquariums style. All you have to do is to go around walking on the wooden planks to choose your own seafood; from fish to prawn, from eel to crabs, from lobster to clams, from oysters to puffer fish! Just joking... the puffer fish is only for display.
